Sounds like a cool project. I hope you have alternative outlets as I'd love to give you money, but I don't have an ipad and probably won't for the foreseeable future.

I’ll probably do a art book and sell other merchandise to support the ebook.

I wish I'd been able to see more of the art in your video presentation. The concept is strong, so I'm looking forward to seeing the execution of the story. Can you post some stills in this thread?

Nice stuff. I like the line work and, especially, the "dirtiness" of the page in this example.

I'm a little confused, though. The two standing soldiers look overlaid on top of the helicopter image behind them, probably because of the fact they are on two different planes, obviously pointed out with the addition of the thick black frame. However, being the same height as the soldiers in the chopper gives me the impression they are two of four men. Another thing that makes it hard to interpret is the right leg of the soldier (his right) on the right of the image. The thick frame actually crosses over his back leg, while his buddy next to him seems to be stepping over the border of the frame. What were you trying to convey? If the men in the chopper and the men on the ground are one and the same, having just climbed out, then it doesn't work because there's no clear separation in the actions. If they are two of four, then what you've got here is the (bottom) men climbing out of the helicopter and then immediately climbing over a frame, even though it's an open field. This doesn't work either. Clarity is key in maintaining the reading flow. Something like this stops me dead in my tracks, like putting a period in the. Middle of a sentence.

I'm looking forward to seeing more to get a better idea of your work.

Thanks for your feedback Steve but I’m hardly an amateur at this.

Even professionals are constantly learning, Ron. I don't just comment on the amateur's work. What I see is what I see, regardless of your years of experience, and if I saw, for example, Cary Nord's work and saw something that didn't make sense, I'd still comment, which I have and he took it graciously and into consideration.

You're going to get lots of comments on your work, some educated, others not so much, but realize that everyone's comments have value. After 26 years of doing this, I know what to look for. So please don't get defensive, rationalize, or brush off what may (from me or someone else) be an integral question or comment that will play an important role in your creative growth. I'm personally far from being an amateur, but am more than willing to listen to another's point of view and consider their approach.

Still lots to learn.

Fair enough posting has open me up to criticism. I’ll take your comment into consideration. Thanks Steve.

Let's look at it as "reviewing" instead of criticism, okay? I really hate that word because it has a negative connotation, and I meant nothing negative, just looking for clarity. I'm really looking forward to seeing more. Will you be doing another video?

Good stuff, Ron. Nicely produced video as well!

I notice you guys are marketing this as a "Graphic Album", as opposed to Novel or Comic-- The other thing I notice is that you (from what I can tell) are pretty much using one image per screen/swipe-- Is Hotel WT built this way? Like, no panels/balloons?

Also, how is Ibooks Author treating you? Do you find it user friendly? I haven't actually dug into it yet, but I'm curious to perhaps try it out for an upcoming project.

Very nice presentation though-- can't wait to see more.

There will be word gallons and some pages will contain more than one image or panel. I’m going through a number of processes so it’s been a learning experience.

iBook Author has been treating me well if you are okay to stay within Apple’s “Walled Garden”.
