so I like certain drawn elements of these pages, but I think there are a few problems that might not be helping your storytelling goal.

without any other context, I couldn't tell what the hell was going on in page 1.
I see panel 1, castle, rain, mountains.. sure.

panel 2.. who is this? where are he? is he in this castle? I don't know..

panel 3..who are these guys? where are they? what relation to panel 2 do they have if any? I don't know...

panel 4..who what where are we looking at? is that the same guys from panel 3 in the background of this panel? not sure

panel 5..what am I even looking at? birds eye view of the guy from panel 2 looking at guys from panel 3? I kept going back and forth trying to figure out what I was looking at.
so...that's not good.
and the last panel...guessing that's the guy from panel 2? its all kinda vague.

page 2 is a little more clear, tho I'm assuming from a different story?

page 3 again, a different story?

another thing ive been saying to artists for years, take it easy on the creative panel designs. all these odd shapes and overlapping borders and all that stuff. none of it is helping you achieve anything really in my opinion. its just distracting. and when the storytelling is hard enough to decipher, silly panel designs are just an eye sore. again, in MY opinion

id suggest keeping with some basic block type panel layout in your storytelling and work on making the story easy to follow first.

meaning.....?

...you ..disagree so much with my critique that you aren't going to bother asking why I said what I said, or why my crits aren't valid or why your pages work so much better than I am suggesting they do?

if that's the case...IF... I would suggest you aren't doing yourself any favors in your growth as an sequential storytelling artist.

I stand by my critiques. they are valid. in my opinion.

please. argue with me. lets discuss what does work here and what doesn't. we all end up learning something hopefully.

I agree with Rob's comments wholeheartedly...

Simplify the layout/panel design. If you are not trying to convey something specific with all these angular panels, then drop them. Avoid having the characters overflowing into other panels for now.

The storytelling (you knew I'd go there, right) is hard to follow.

Maybe he has no good arguements/reasons to reply? and has just taken the easy way out.

Yes - I'm stirring abit.

BUT the crits were quite valid,so westwolf270 you should take some of them onboard.

I won't tell you to quit drawing and pursue another career because I don't know you and that would be mean. But your response to 12013's critique is telling. It's an 'I quit' statement. That's what I hear. It's an 'I'm not ready to handle the intellectual and physical load of drawing objectively clear, economic, entertaining comics' statement. You are recusing yourself from doing the work.

Do you get critiques at Kubert? Get your head on straight or comics will take a giant shit on you.

Moving forward: please post more work! Because a few pages isn't enough to evaluate strengths and weaknesses. That's why folks post. For assessment.

Keep going.

SSTiger will become famous soon enough

I don't think anyone's trying to upset you here, wolf. It's just that, since this is the "Sequential Art" showcase, people look at your pages not as individual art but whether they work together to lay out a (silent) narrative.

Your basic art is good; it's the "Sequential" part that you need work on. If you drew this off someone else's script, try using a different one.

I agree with Matt: you shouldn't quit. Keep going, keep posting.

(I hate unconventional panel layouts too BTW; sorry)
