[PAID] Penciler/Artist to join our team - Adult web series

Seeking penciler for our gay-themed web comic. Actually, we are looking for another inker and colorist too, and we are posting for those positions. But one person can be all 3, so don't hesitate to let us know if you think you are the right person to fill all 3 roles.

Candidate must be comfortable with explicit material. Candidate will be penciling scripts created by the authors of a sexually explicit gay themed web comic. Artwork by the current principle artist, Chaz Truog, can be seen here.

We are looking for a penciler at a professional level - this is a work for hire position to start. We want an artist we can transition to a full-time member of our core team.
  • Penciler must be competent with comic-book style illustration, and have initiative while staying true to the direction given by the author.
  • Must have a strong understanding of anatomy—and importantly, sexual anatomy in particular.
  • Must have a strong understanding of movement.
  • You'll be providing scanned pencils. The final product is returned to us as a high resolution jpeg.
  • You must be able to take direction.

Page rate for the first 10 pages is $50/page. We can renegotiate the pay rate after the successful completion of the first 10 page mini-series, up to $75/page. We anticipate completing 3 mini-series before the end of 2015, and another 20 in 2016.

Payment is through Venmo or check.
  • A Venmo (or other e-payment like square, blue, etc.) payment is initiated within 48 hours of receipt of completed pencils. Processing takes 1 business day or less to show in your account. There is no fee for this transaction.
  • A physical check is cut within 48 hours of receipt of completed pencils. Checks can take up to a week in regular post to arrive. There is no additional fee for a physical check.
A project can be invoiced one of two ways. Either on a page by page basis, or per project with half invoiced upon submission of half the pages for a given mini-series, and the remaining half upon final submission of the remaining pages in the mini-series.

Timelines are 2 weeks for a 10-15 page mini-series (comic). An artist can invoice for payment as frequently as once per week for work completed.

Open to all applicants, including international applicants.

Please send a link to or attachment of your portfolio to holsinger@gmail.com with the subject: ‘Application for Penciler [Your Name]’.
  • Please state clearly if you also inked or colorized any of the submitted samples.
  • If submitting your portfolio by email attachment, please limit the number of pages submitted to no more than 10.
  • If submitting a link to your website, please ensure the links are to a gallery of relevant works.
  • Based on your portfolio we will send out direction for penciling 1 test page to artists who meet the quality and style we’re after.
  • To further your application the test page should be completed and returned to us for a final decision.
  • If you are unsuccessful you’ll be will be informed.

Before you consider completing the test pages please note we pay $25 for test pages, and test pages will NOT be utilized for any of our published material. They are for the application process only.

We will endeavor to respond to all applicants in a week. Test pages must be completed within 5 days to be considered. The sooner the test pages are received the sooner we can start you on the project (if you’re selected).

To find out more about our project, feel free to email me at holsinger@gmail.com

Many thanks and good luck.
