Recently I finished my first self-published comic: Today's Hero. The premise behind the comic is that America's one super hero has died, and the government is desperate to replace him. Unfortunately, no one is stepping up to take his place. So in order to lure out people with super powers, the government holds a reality television show.

The first issue is about the main character, Jake. He can heal himself to the point where he can regrow lost limbs, but rather than do anything good or productive with this, he decides to cut off his arm in a workplace "accident" in order to get a lifetime disability settlement. This issue deals with the consequences of his actions.

We have print copies available for $5.00, as well as a digital download version available for $3.00. This is the first issue in a ten part series. We're hoping to have the second issue out by early next year. If you're interested in picking up a copy, you can visit our online store here. (http://va-comics.com/store)

Congratulations on finishing your first book!!! I love your concept actually and really want to see what happens to Jake and what other stories will be told in this series.

Could you please post some preview pages here? And if for each issue you continued updating this thread I think you'd really start to hook people.

I would also really love to see you have a color cover for your book.

Looking forward to more!

Also, we actually did a color cover as a special edition variant for our Kickstarter backers. Here's that:

We starting to move forward with the second issue right now. We had to get a new artist, unfortunately, as the artist on issue one retired, so we're crossing the Ts and dotting the Is in that regard. We're hoping to have the Kickstarter rolling for the second issue withing the next week or two.
