Hello all, I put up the first issue to my book here (http://baitcomic.blogspot.com/2014/02/bait-cover.html). It's kind of a long read (44 pages) but it would be cool to get some feedback on it.

BAIT is the story of Ethan, a young man with the ability to attract violence and a group of monster hunters willing to take full advantage of that ability. BAIT is a comic that mixes horror, action and comedy to tell the tragic story of a guy who is used as monster bait.

I really like the cover. The tooth-face guy is perfect. The premise and title of your comic are cool.

Thanks Mookie, the best thing about doing a horror-ish comic is the crazy character designs you can get away with. I designed that tooth guy as something that "chews' by headbutting... kind of violent but I like violence.

Love that cover! I'd pick up this book in a second, but, but, that lettering is a real turn off.

Check out these site (if you haven't already)...

Man, you should be hand lettering! This awesome art just screams -- HAND LETTER ME.

I've gotten that criticism about the lettering before. It's one of those things I never really put any thought into until I tried doing it. Then I realized how much I suck at it. I need to start a sketchbook for typography, just so I can work on finding a way to make some text that fits my style.

I'm really starting to appreciate the skill involved in every single step of the comic process. One "off" thing, can really impact the final product.

Thanks for the links, I'll definitely check them out. I got one to share too, I saw this the other day and it kind of inspired me to step my lettering game up. Also, it's got kind of a reggae thing going on for 4/20.

The art is really interesting and stylized. I like how the light colors really soften the pages. The concept is cool, and I'm curious to see how the story goes off the walls to the cover.

Thanks gummahfan. Hopefully i'll be able to get the first 2 issues on Comixology soon. By the way, I took a look at "Son of God" and thought it looked awesome. It was only a few pages but i'm hooked. I'll be keeping an eye out for it in July.
