The lovely Esteban Quinteros was looking for a script to draw for his portfolio and decided to use mine! Not sure if I or he are going to submit it anywhere, or where, but I love his work so much I just wanted to show it off!

Did you purposefully make the last 3 pages too small to read?

No...gosh, I'm sorry. I've never uploaded images to this site so the best I could do was upload them onto my tumblr privately then link from there. Not sure how to make them larger. :( Or how directly upload from my computer. Bummer.

It's the images that you used. Note the numbers at the end of the respective files. The 500 and the 250 refer to the width of the respective images posted online.

Do you know if one can upload them directly from a file as opposed to a link?

There's no uploading to DW. Only linking.

Basically, the images have to be hosted elsewhere.

Sorry. :(

Nope. I think the fear is, since it's a comic forum, people would bog it down with image files.

Okay. Then I may try re uploading and retry it

Okay, just fiddling with the links seems to have done it!

It was great! The end was pretty strong and sad, but I liked it. Keep it going, Chelsea. I think you're very good.

God...after a long, tiring day, you have no idea how much I appreciate hearing that!

I like the twist ending. Were the spelling mistakes intentional as some sort of accent or something? I noticed these mistakes. "This way you get to play, even when I'm not hare here." "Bye, Malcom, I'll see you next time." "Beloved son and brother."

No, that's unfortunately the result of some translation issues, I think. Before we submit it anywhere I plan to go over those with the artist.

Chelsea, that was very nicely done.

The editor in me wants to swing the camera around a bit, but I understand why you didn't.

Very nice, very sad.

A couple of things:

The art: Sometimes, the kids look too aggressive. P3, panels 1 and 3 are perfect examples of that. There's also the case of the changing teeth. Sometimes they're straight, sometimes ragged and gapped, sometimes they disappear totally. Pick one and run with it.

The spelling. Fix it.

The lettering: Kill the crossbar I's except for the personal pronoun. Also, put the crossbar I in when needed.

It's the little things that keep this from being great.

Keep up the good work. You're on a nice trajectory.

I don't know if much can be done about the aggression or the camera angles at this point, but I'll pass on the notes about the spelling and the cross-bar I's to the artist, who also lettered it. Thanks!

I wouldn't expect the camera angles or the aggression to be fixed right now. It's kinda late in the game, it looks like. However, just think of it as something to be looking for in the future. :)

I guess it's a balance. As a writer, I try to keep my scripts fairly vague so that the artists have a lot of freedom. But perhaps, from time to time, I should get more specific with things like expression.

It would definitely help. :) It will let the artist know what's going on in your head more. They don't have to be a slave to it, but it would help them "see" better.

It's a sad one, but I really like it.
