It's probably a long shot to ask this, but still: are there any artists here who'd like to tackle an eight-page script featuring Red and Jade-Jaws?

If you want to see the script before making a decision, let me know and I can PM it to you.

The sorta deadline(which is totally flexible)...was still 2 months out. The artist is still unavailable for that amount of time?

What he concretely said was that he wouldn't be able to do the story. I didn't want to push, because if he's not comfortable committing, I don't want to convince him otherwise only to run into problems later on, which would be even worse.

I actually appreciate getting a heads-up this early, since this way if anyone else wants to take a crack at it they have a decent window to work in.

well that's a bummer. I hope someone else is out there that would want to help.

Showing the script in the writer's showcase may incite & entice some artist to help with the artwork's chores. IMHO.

SSTiger 01-04-2018 10:44 PM

That's actually a good idea....

Okay, I reformatted the script in bbcode and it's up now in the Writer Showcase. Here's hoping.

hey I read that thing. great story. I really liked it. I hope someone picks that up cause it would be amazing to see.

Thanks! I hope so, too; because as a fan work written for the portal-jumping theme, it's not like I can use it elsewhere... fingers crossed.

Thought I would share the beginning of my story - Thought I would have Hellboy dragged through the portal this time (there is a reason), I am really enjoying working on these characters.

Lookin VERY good.

Hey RobertS, what do you use to ink? Im just curious

Rob

I'm guessing markers by the brush strokes.

RobertS 01-13-2018 05:32 PM

I pretty much use micron markers. 005 to 0.8. I was never good with brush inking. Inking in general is a challenge, I have a lot of respect for everyone that can do it.

These few panels look really nice, RobertS. Very solid work with some great dramatic angles and the splash page is really fantastic! Can’t wait to see more. Only one caveat:be sure to watch the size on his right Hand of Doom; from everything I’ve ever seen of HB, it’s usually pretty massive, henceforth the amount of damage it can incur and sustain.

RobertS 01-15-2018 01:08 PM

Thanks jeffchris50, I actually find Hellboy hard to draw. I am not that familiar with him in comic form and when googling his image there are all sorts of variations on his look and since my style is very different from Mike Mignola's , I went with more the movie version - i will definitely take a look at the hand though and see if i can correct it.
