Artwork for Webcomic
Greetings everyone, i am Azrul, a webcomic artist based in Malaysia.
Currently im working on a webcomic, it will be history genre based in Joseon era (Korea) I will post my character development here as my gradually process goes on, im very open for advice and suggestion for me to be improved on my works. I still develop my stroke and inking style so my work may not appeal to some.I like american style comics but my style is very different from western style.I only work with FOSS application, im using GNU/Linux as my operating system (Fedora 27 to be precise) and using graphic software such Mypaint,Krita, etc.I am fully digital artist- i sketch, ink and color using Intuos.Lastly, i will updating my works on this thread from time to time. Thanks for Looking! :har: https://i.imgur.com/m4Oslwdh.png https://i.imgur.com/rCoHz4Ph.png https://i.imgur.com/V6GRTMnh.png https://i.imgur.com/5mYAfi3h.png https://i.imgur.com/znrZ8ith.png |
Wow, great costume details.
Your not going to try and put that much detail into all your panels are you? |
Id say i like detailed inking even with panel. But depending on the scene and mood of the panel , i ll always try to limit myself from overdrawn.they are my biggest weaknesses, tend to detailed everything.I still have a long way to go, a lot more to study on comics. :D

new character design and some panel

your strength is consistency...
...my suggestions....
I'd recommend looking at Alphonse Mucha. The outline would be a strong, single width line while the render lines would continue to be thinner, variable width lines. Your render lines produce a consistent grey tone but you need to add a little more variance of light to dark in that tone. You can vary line width, distance between lines or numbers of the lines to change the level of grey the lines read. |

but the artist that you link does not suits for my particular style ( i prefer someone in comic related fields ) some that i like is -Yang Kyung Il who draw the Devil's Island Comic and Blade Of The Phantom Master (korean based artist) -Zhihui Deng who draw manhwa "Feng Sheng Ji" and also Journey To The West (chinese based artist) those are the particular that i like, who draw detailed and using brush ink a lot. but thanks for your recommendation, im happy to see something new |

New progress

it's clear you're improving. my suggestion is work on line weights. perhaps a thicker holding line surrounding the characters. i suggest continue using the grey or thin lines to add a grey tone to your work. you have a great sense of detail, keep up the good work.
