Batgirl Comic

Hi DW, this is my first post! So I've recently been getting back into making comics after about a ten year hiatus. My background is in film and animation but my original passion was comicbooks. I haven't drawn a super hero since I was 15 but I saw the new batgirl design and thought it was pretty cool. Anyway so I made this 22 page comic just for fun. It doesn't follow the current canon or anything, it's just my own short story about a teenage batgirl and harley quinn.

wow.

I have to say, I didn't think I was gonna care for the subject matter. im not a huge DC guy, and I usually don't care for updated "new" stuff that's aimed at kids. not that there is anything wrong with that. its just not for me.

but I enjoyed the hell out of this and that's mostly because of the writing. I love all the little character moments. the stuff with Harley and not wanting to go home. her "smile" being her mask.. all neat stuff.

I REALLY enjoyed the pretentious douche art tagger in the alley.. I laughed out loud at that guy.

and I really liked the real language, cusses and all...(for what I was assuming was a "kids" style book). all very real. that's how people talk. and I loved it.

very cool sir, I hope to see you do more and post it here.

how long did this take you to do?

Love seeing a different style on here.
Suited the content and writing really well.

A few times the faces seemed abit 'flat' but overall very solid work.
Nicely done

It was great to read. When Batgirl and Harley was sitting and talking for some reason it reminded me The Killing Joke story .) also like the art. it was nice.

Hi, Rob, thanks for the feedback back, I really appreciate it. It took me a few months to make as I was learning manga studio and still developing the style as I went along. I'm not a DC guy either but I thought it would be funny to do a "kids" style comic and fill it with a bunch of foul mouthed teens. I'm glad you enjoyed the humor.

well I love it. its a shame this site is so slow these days..not much conversation going on.

this deserves much more attention than its getting.

This is different and good... looks like the animated cartoon but doesn't play out like it!

I only had one nit... and it wasn't for being offended at the language... it was more the choice at that particular time... when Batgirl was laying atop the obsessed dude who just says "I love you"... her response was probably not the brightest one for her to make. It is probably likely to just entice him further, because he will hear the word he wants to hear in that sentence
