About the book - Liberators

When her alien best friend is abducted by soldiers from his home planet, Heather must assemble a ragtag team of antiheroes to rescue him from the clutches of his sister, the evil empress. Along the way Heather will ignite a revolution to dethrone the empress, but in the end she will have to choose between saving her best friend or saving the entire galaxy.

The story is about the themes of survival, displacement, relationships, spirituality, identity and mental illness.

About the job

I’m looking for an experienced and published sequential artist to pencil and ink at least 6 pages to start for a pitch with the hopes of continuing on the project with me. Ideally I want someone who loves to collaborate and bounce ideas. I worked with a previous artist and she had drawn the first 12 pages of issue one, but had to leave the project.

Style
Here are twelve of the original pages to demonstrate the style I'm hoping to come close to, but open to a new style if the artist is a good fit.

The first volume focuses on Heather during her senior year of high school and those awkward struggles and then once she blasts off into space the story becomes more of a space opera/adventure so it allows for a wide range of fun worlds and characters to draw.

Page rate
Budgeted page rate is $100 (neg based on experience).

Payment
I will pay upon delivery of every page. Payment will be sent by Venmo or Zelle (let me know if you prefer some other means) within 24 hours of delivery receiving a low-resolution version of each completed page. Once payment is received, artist will send the final art as a 600dpi TIFF file

Process
I’d love to have a phone call/zoom to explain the project to you and make sure we’re on the same page creatively. Then I can send the script to issue 1 and the series bible. Once you have a good understanding of the project I trust you to do your work, but always reach out for any questions/feedback.

My name is Richie Harrington, I come from a film/TV background and have written, directed, and produced several short films, web series, and music videos. I worked for Michael Bay (Transformers) and David O. Russell (American Hustle/Silver Linings Playbook/The Fighter). Most recently I helped David write his latest feature film starring Christian Bale and Margot Robbie. This is my first venture into comics.
