The colours.....don't know if I love them (retro vibe) or hate them.
My favourite is actually the captives page. The Conan looking artwork. has a nice animated feel to it. Like a Bruce Timm cartoon.

Thanks Sevens, I know what you mean about the colours. I do them myself and I've never felt comfortable with it. The only thing is my linework is quite simple so withought colours I don't think the pages stands out as much.
Thats cool that you like the captives page, I finished the 6th issue a few weeks ago hopefully we'll find a publisher for it. I tried to draw it in more of aKirby and buscema style than Bruce timm, I've always had people compare me Bruce timm before. |

These are cool! It'd serve your style well to get tighter on your inks, it would really pull the page's look together! Overall it feels "indie" which I like! Thumbs up.

Thanks Marc, i do like my stuff to look a little messy, to give it a bit more life. something like how cliff chiang or Noel sickles did their pages. its a difficult balance though.
I managed to finish the splash page today anyway, another really tough page, lots of characters and objects to get looking right ![]() |

I like your work. My only concern is the transition between pages within the same stories/sequences. There are major jumps per pages which may have to do with the plot...

Hi toondoctor, I know what you mean about the jumps between pages. The problem is is that we're trying to tell a complete story or at least a complete introduction of characters within 10 pages.
The only way to get around it would just be to add more panels into each page. I know your supposed to be able to follow along the story withought the dialogue but I am pretty sure once the dialogue is added it will make sense. Ive got one more page to go, I've had to redraw some of the panels as I wasn't happy with them but I should get around to ink the last page tomorrow |

Good work! Use more reference. Concentrate on offsetting big black and white shapes, I get lost in the layout of the room and what's in it on newest pg, pnl 1. Nice shots, pacing and design overall.
David Mazzucchelli's work on CITY OF GLASS is a brilliant example of loose but highly organized finishes designed for maximum contrast as well as clarity; you might find something useful there. Post more when you can!

Liking it.
It reminds me of Francesco Francavilla's retro style. Everything looks fine and consistent. Sort of sketchy. Maybe a little more of care on finishes and details overall will bring this material to the golden gates. |

Hi guys thanks for that feedback. I'm definitely going to tighten up my style a bit then as I keep getting those comments. Hopefully that might help me get through the golden gates. I haven't heard of city of glass before but looking at it I like the style a lot.
