Nice lighting/ hatching effect! Is the top one black scratchboard and bottom one white scratchboard?

Thanks! Just ink on paper for both. I use triangles a lot to keep my lines straight and get that etching look. Time-consuming but I like the end result. I draw a lot of inspiration from Berni Wrightson's Frankenstein work.

Oh I see, so you rotate the paper maybe to get different angles, and then slide the triangle for each line? I wonder if an Ames lettering guide would help, they let you draw lots of evenly spaced parallel lines.

It gives a different look from hand drawn shading/ hatching, definitely.

Might be much faster to use scratchboard, for very similar look. Those scratchboard tools can draw multiple parallel lines at once.

There are probably easier ways to do it but I just enjoy the process.
