digital widow

We have been talking about doing a community project and I was looking some of those Digital Webbing Presents covers. I ended up doing this for fun.

Cool...
My personal preference would be to see shading done more through linework... Old school... Or just a flat gray tone in places... But great design and drawing.

i agree with TimR, i would add some blacks to the figure but you've got good composition and nice highlights. Nicely dynamic.

You have a strong light source at the top, and I wish that she was getting a few bright highlights on her too. She is a robot, so she must be abit reflective.

OR.... that the streams of light behind her were abit stronger, this would also create a bigger seperation of foreground / background because of the higher contrast.

thanks guys it really helps to have other people look at stuff.
sevens I think I will go with adding some higher highlights on her. I was thinking of her as being fairly light but not shiny. I may change that. Shiny seems like a good idea. She may need some more lights also.
artman and TimR think I will add darker shading I don't know how yet. It could be a good idea to just add old school line work. I will see.

I just meant my comment as a general thing... Adding old school linework at this point might be a weird mix of styles... But whatever you think best of course, it's your drawing...

thanks kong. I fiddled with that shadow a lot. It looks so simple now.
TimR it was interesting to me that you and artman brought that up because it was one of those things I went back a forth about. Maybe there is no right answer but it is interesting that you had some of the same questions I had my self. I think that is why it is almost necessary having some else give there two cents. Even if it just helps clarify to my self why I did things the way I did and change for the better maybe. Thanks again.

Look at what you did to my picture. Shinny really works. Not sure if it is done. I always see more after I post things.
The old school inking did not work out. I guess I have to stick with my up to date totally modern approach.
