Very old school, and very European. I really like your style. I could see it working for horror and fantasy, like old Vertigo books, but I'm not sure it works for superheroes.

I can relate. My style will likely never land me a gig at Marvel or DC. It's just not a good fit. I think the same thing, here. Your work would be good on the right title, but might not get much response from the major American publishers.

Hello Larime, i don't know if very old school is a pleasure for me ... I tend to be a pop artist with a pop style !!! Like M D Allred or Darwin Cooke, which are each of better today comics book artists for me!

But yes trully the horror and fantasy are what i prefer !!!

I speak one time with a Marvel's Comics editor! He came in a french convention 2 years ago! He asks me to mail some pages that he liked in my book, after i'll ink them! But i lost the page before mailling him! He would want to make me do script tests ...It was a real bad time for me ... Since this time he don t answer me, maybe i make an error...

After, always in a french convention, last year, i see others comics books publishers who said me things like you, but told me if i tend to make my art more realistic, to mail them for work!

And at the end, i had the luck to talk with Mike D. Allred and his wife! These people were really lovely !!! Mike advise me to go to US convention, to make me know in body by the US publisher! And not give up to work on comic books! That i had to count with my luck because luck is really important in art !!!

He was happy to see other style than today classic comics style ! It make me pleasure! I m a big fan of his universe!


I made subscription to image comics 4 years ago, i never received an aswer... Positive or negative ...

I didn't do yet big things in the french market! Some pages here and there in anthology books, any webcomics, much more illustrations! Often in France, editors says me my style is too americanised...

And i try to find an serious editor, because in france i had many problems with some of thems... Art stolen, pages non pay... Lies ... Now i want to be things good! So here am i !!!

I see you re writer, maybe have you advices or work to tell me! Thank you by advance, and sorry for my poor english !!!

I see. Sorry to hear about the flimsy editors/publishers. Definitely think you've got some very strong storytelling going on and a great, fun style, so I'm a bit surprised that you're not published outside of anthologies and webcomics.

It's funny the French editors say it's "too Americanized" -- I think many Americans would say it looks (at least a bit) European. To me it looks similar to some things I've seen in Heavy Metal, that were by European artists.

Anyway, lots of nice work IMO.. that one with the oval frame is especially striking.
