NON-Comic Logo Design Rework

In one of my other lives I own a spa. I know, I know...WHAT??? Yes, it's true. Anyway, we're expanding and are in need of a new logo (minor name change). We're not a fluffy spa, we focus on medical treatment and athletes (like the really crazy ones), so I want our logo to reflect that hard edge. But there's an element of relaxation and spa-like atmosphere, so I want to capture that. I also HATE the typical spa look...so, my current one can be seen at the top of our home page: http://thatstherub.com/

The latest contender is here (cropped poorly):

Real critique, thoughts, and ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks, ya'll!

I like the interdigitated text blocks. The floral element seems awkward; both that it's there at all, as it doesn't seem like a natural fit with the straightforward font; and the actual shape of it, which doesn't flow very naturally. Just my two cents.

I would have the floral element attached to the left (our right) leg of the R.

Thank YOU all! I'm reworking it to the R...I thought the U would give it a better balance, but you're completely right that flow is off. EDITS!

get rid of the hump and have the R and vine flow together as if they are one.

Hmmm...the humps is from the R...I agree with you, just not sure if I can balance that. Off to try.

better... I would taper the difference between the leg of the R and the vine a more so that it flows from one to the other better.

Let me be the first to say... that's a SWEET name for a spa. Wish I was that bloody clever.

I'm no letterer, so take this for what it's worth...
I'd personally have the secondary text in a sans-serif font. All those serifs everywhere are making things look slightly busy to me.

Thanks Alyssa! We are quite fond of our name as well.

I have considered helvetica for the secondary text, and still do for the reasons you mention...but I haven't been able to get past this general feel. Today is go time, so I'll give it a quick relook. Thank YOU!
