yeah a bit of red. I think that will be the real feature of this painting in the end. I started this comp with the red sky and covered it up as i built the general mood. I can now decide how to bring it back.

An update on the colour comp. Not sure it is all there yet but the red helps the lighting scheme.

I do like the red sunset/sunrise. Maybe let it reflect more off the characters

thanks ld-airgrafix
you thought that was good
see the red is taking over.
I am painting this back to front so the best reflections are going to probably come at the end.

I like the atmosphere of the old one so I will try to keep that part though it might change if some better idea comes along.

I really love the old Kirby character designs. Something very satisfying about drawing them.

I believe Kirby is a master designer, artist, visualizer. When I first saw his work I was blown away. That being said, I like the way you did Thor, great action vibe.

Thanks artman. I am trying to get my version of some of these classic characters down. I think it makes a good example of my approach to things from a common reference.
I think Kirby hit a nice balance between enough detail to make a character interesting and simple enough to draw again and again.

Thank you very much artman. Just when I thought I was doing the same old thing. I thought this sort of pose on the roof is such a batman thing to do. I am not sure what to do with this character over all but he is fun. I have been thinking of scenarios to put him through but only have little snippets so far.

This is the type of work that allows you to stretch. When you have a more traditional background a cartoonier type work is a great change up.

the last one is pretty cool, you might just lay out a loose perspective guide for yourself to make it a bit more appeasing to the eye as far as the closer buildings go.
