ok... on to issue 2. there was lots of great art in issue 1, but people really stepped it up in issue2. and to start...

[COLOR="Red"these pages I don't think I have ever shown before..from the badass artist GRENDEL. he was doing a whole opening to the book based on how the previous book ended with magneto talking with the Skrulls. that leads to involving a more..galactic response. especially considering the powers one specific individual has in the xmen group. the artist worked on these off and on for quite a while and was sending me screenshots as he did them. they looked amazing and I wish we were able to see them 100% completed, but he had other things as well do come up. still..the amount of skill and effort he put in these..it looks so great. I'm not sure if I put these in the correct order cause they weren't lettered in these WIP stages they were sent to me as. still...just look at this stuff. gah..[][/COLOR]

so the story continues...

at the end of the last issue, the xmen were transported to a jungle where they were attacked by weird techno spheres that ending up forming into a giant man they had to fight after it ate cyclops. but hes okay.

theres a sentence I never thought id write.

anyway..it ended with the xmen standing around wondering what was to come next. magneto watched on while talking with a SKRULL..and then him preparing his evil minions to attack the xmen.

and it all starts back up here (after the awesome GRENDEL prelude above)

and then the fight kicked into overdrive with this BADass double page spread by "NAMS". this thing looks amazing and you can tell he put in serious effort

to continue the original xmen stuff... where we left off...the xmen were locking in battle with the brotherhood of evil mutants... and dinosaurs. here we pick up where Cyclops is distracted by a dino and suffers a fatal blow by Juggernaut.

this leads to...some unfortunate repercussions.

now THESE pages... no disrespect meant to any other artists..were by FAR my most favorite that any of the stuff that was submitted.
these pages by a guy that goes by the name "EFFESS" look so completely 100% professional and amazing...I would buy a book with this guys art based on that alone. I tasked him with drawing the scene where Jean turns to Dark Phoenix. and holy shit did he nail it. 2 yrs later and I'm still in awe of this guys work. I want him to draw MY book..and if I was rich..id pay him.
