How To Draw Demons | Part 4: Demon Temptress

After a short delay, the final installment of the ‘How To Draw Demons’ tutorial series is finally here! 😈

https://youtu.be/wdyF9HObzdw

I figured I’d leave the best for last… where instead of demonstrating the creation of one character, I’d show you how to draw up multiple character’s, composed within a single shot.

What’s a little bit different about this week’s Comic Art Tutorial is that the character’s, though they look complex, required a lot of strategic balancing as far as the detailing went.

This is something that’s a little hard to get our heads around when it comes to drawing characters from a distance. It can be very tempting to zoom right in and start detailing out every square inch of the illustration to the nth degree…

…only to discover that all of those details meld together into a blurry mess when zooming back out and looking at the illustration as a whole.

The size that your comic book illustration will ultimately be looked at, whether in a comic book panel, a comic book cover, or a poster – needs to be considered with great care when figuring out the density of detail you’ll be putting into it.

Something else I’ll be covering in this tutorial is CLOTHING! And how to render different fabrics based on the material they’re made of and the looseness/tightness of the clothing.

Each one of these clothing characteristics come into play when it comes to laying in the wrinkles, folds and creases of your character’s clothing assets, and each are depicted with a variety of different levels of shadow and shading in order to get the correct look.

We’ll also touch on the key differences between male and female anatomy and how the two differ when it comes to the amount of definition and detail used to illustrate them.

And of course, as in the previous videos, I’ll be covering my approach and mindset to the design process as I construct and refine the illustration from a basic, rudimentary sketch, and turn into an intricately crafted, Comic Book Illustration.

This wraps up the final installment of the ‘How To Draw Demon’s’ Comic Art Series – I hope you’ve enjoyed it! In the coming week I’ll be packaging these tutorials up, along with the PSD and Image files for easy download to that you can keep them to refer back to whenever you need them!

Thanks for watching – And remember to keep on creating!
