Really cool rough layout. I would love to see a tired worn out Conan, with creatures on his tail.

Ditto what they said.. I'm intrigued to see how it turns out.

I love unfinished art. Darken it up and I would buy this book in a heart beat.

I think the first pose of Conan is better. It has more flow and seems more embroiled and struggling in the jungle. You could maybe enlarge it a little.
It is a hard balance between trusting that first vision and cleaning it up. |

Honestly, you are not the first to point that out, and I think it is 100% correct. I am taking a time out from this piece as I realize I have to pretty much start over to make it work. I sketched some more on it, but I think it is as far as I can go at this point. Thanks everybody for the great feedback!

I like the 2nd pose. The first pose is awkward in that the left arm and left leg are both moving forward at the same time. People don't normally move like that if you watch people move. It just visually lacks flow and movement imo. These are cool though. What program are you using?

I actually prefer the first one. Although the second one looks better, its a typical boring conan pose that we have seen million times before. First one looks like he is tired/wounded, not something that’s usually associated with conan

Yup, I also liked the stories the best, where conan was brought to the brink. I specifically remember one where he is tossed out in antaectica or so and has to survive on hunting mammoths
![]() @kong, I am using Medibang paint on a Note 8. I do all my sketching on the phone nowadays. I cannot recommend this app enough, it is free, comes with built in cloud and does everything fairly decent. But beware: You should export everything to the cloud and save the editable files on your desktop pc. If you update your OS or have to do a factory reset, the working files are NOT backed up! It is a dick move to make you use the cloud, but anyway it is free and brought my work to a new level. Was using sketchbook before. ![]() |
