Gustav Klimt Painting SOLD! $135 million (US)

Yes, another fine art thread.... but in this case, the art world has corrected itself. A painting from a truly amazing artist. $135 million. Worth every penny... I wonder how much 'The Kiss' is worth now?

I am always a little pissed off whenever any person or entity pays that kind of money for an object.

Ok, according to the US Department of Labor...as of 5/2005 the mean hourly wage for all occupations was $14.15/hr. At that rate it, a person would have to work almost 4587 years to earn that much...before taxes. 9,540,636 hours.

Sometimes I want to steal all the "shiny objects" on Earth and launch them into the fucking sun. But we'd probably just burn down the forrests and make leaves money like in Hitchiker's Guide.

Not that there is anything wrong with the painting itself.
