Saan Diego programming/panels

is it me or is there a LOT more programming this year than last year? it took me a long time just reading one day's programming. what sucks is that a lot of cool panels occur at the same time in diffrent rooms. it'll be downright impossible to attend all the panels i want to see and still get a chance to enjoy th con AND network.

i'm DEFINITELY going to:
12:30-2:00 Spotlight on George R. R. Martin— With a career that covers fantasy writing (his popular “A Song of Fire and Ice” series of books), television (Twilight Zone and the beloved Beauty and the Beast), and comics, George R. R. Martin has pleased fans for many years. He and his works are featured in this special spotlight presentation. Room 6B

he's one of my all-time favorite authors. if you are not familiar with him, do yourself a favor and read GAME OF THRONES. i wanna try and get an autograph too.

anyhoo...
i also want to catch:
7:30-9:00 SNL: Saturday TV Funhouse with Robert Smigel— Q & A to follow! With appearances by animator/director Robert Marianetti and—possibly—Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog. Note: Ladysmith Black Mambazo will not be present. Room 6B

i'll probably skip most of the comics related panels and attend the tv/movie ones like:
2:00-3:00 SCI FI: Battlestar Galactica— "The #1 television show of 2005"—Panelists include stars Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Adama), Mary McDonnell (Laura Roslin), James Callis (President Gaius Baltar), and Lucy Lawless (D’Anna Biers), plus executive producers David Eick and Ronald D. Moore and SCI FI VP for original programming Erik Storey. Moderated by Lisa Chambers, features director, TV Guide. Room 20

or
5:45-7:00 New Line Cinema Presents Snakes on a Plane— Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the fright. New Line Cinema will show exclusive footage from Snakes on a Plane. Samuel L. Jackson makes his first San Diego Comic-Con appearance, July 25. Hall H

or
10:30-12:00 Lost: Season 3— You won't want to miss this panel with Jorge Garcia (Hugo “Hurley” Reyes) and Daniel Dae Kim (Jin-Soo Kwon) from the cast of ABC’s hit show Lost as they are joined by co-creator/executive producer Damon Lindelof and executive producers Bryan Burk and Carlton Cuse to discuss the new season of Lost. They'll preview excerpts from the Lost Season 2 DVD box set, take questions from the audience, and perhaps even offer some surprises! Room 20

or
10:30-11:30 Warner Bros. Presents 300— Appearing in person: Creator Frank Miller, director Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead), and actors David Wenham (Faramir in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Return of the King) and Gerard Butler Hall H

and this seems fun:
11:45-12:45 Grind House— Rose McGowan (Charmed), Marley Shelton (Sin City), Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under), Michael Biehn (Aliens), and Jeff Fahey (Dark Hunters) Hall H

i'm curious about this:
2:45-3:30 The Spirit Movie— Including a major announcement regarding the new movie featuring the beloved comics action hero!Hall H

and of course:
5:00-6:30 Sony Presents— Sony Pictures proudly presents a pair of Marvels: The classic Marvel comic Ghost Rider comes to the big screen with Academy Award–winning Nicolas Cage playing Johnny Blaze. Appearing in person to answer your questions and show some previews will be the film's stars Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes and director Mark Steven Johnson. Oh, and did we mention Spidey 3? Come find out why we don't have to say anything else . . . besides Sam Raimi! Hall H

hope they have cool schwag this year.

I've never been to SDCC, but the PULSE just asked me to cover a few panels while I'm there. So, I'm looking forward to doing some comics journalism again.

Take it easy

Hey everyone, if you get a chance stop by the podcasting panel. I think it's on Sunday. I won't be there but a bunch of cool people will, find out about podcasting as comic fans and some great opportunities to promote your comic project.
