refilling type pens....

Hello Fellow inkers,

I was looking for a pen thats refill type I guess fountain pens.. but the ones i found so faron the net are cost big bucks...anywhere around $60 - $120 man thats a lot of cash.. I try odering a pen I saw an add for in CCI05 souvenir book that had a pen and brush tips on it and send the guy money and nothing...

I also tried the tech pens but there always need so much cleaning and such. and you only get a single line flow from them....so what out there any info you guys have, that i don't ????

save ur money
get faber castell pitt ink pens... they use india ink... reproduce well and have brush fluidity. oh and theyre like ten bucks... at most for a set of four pens

inking can be an expensive task but if u do it wisely it can be cheap. nice tools are nice tools. but really friggin pricey tools dont make the artist
the best pen i own is a crowtip... i got it for like a buck

I bought a Pentel brush pen from Blicks while I was in San Diego.... I use it when I'm out, for sketches and stuff, and it's almost as good as my real brushes, except you have to keep squeezing it for more ink lol. It's refillable as well and comes in different colours.

Pentel makes another variation of the brush pen that's designed more like the Kurutake. Gravity fed, no squeezing, easy change refill cartridges...I swear by it. The ink is not india, but it is blacker than black and water resistant if not water proof.

It's hard to find in the US as it's distributed mainly in Asia and Europe, but http://www.johnnealbooks.com/ does carry them (I'd post a direct link but their catalog section is acting wonky at the moment).

Here's what it looks like anyway:

I love this brush...pen...whatever.

I love the Pitt pens, but I'll agree with Scott on this one. I got the Rotring pen when I applied (and interviewed) at the Joe Kubert school (when it was still cartridge only), and really, really like it, even some 12 years later. I really need to get that piston converter...
